The Mystery of the Britannic

HHMS Britannic was the third and largest Olympic-class Ocean Vessel of the White Star Line. She was the sister ship of the legendary RMS Titanic and put to use by the British government in 1915 during WWI as a Hospital ship. At 8:12 AM on the 21st of November 1916 a loud explosion shook the Britannic. Within 55 minutes she sank to the bottom of the Aegean Sea, miraculously with the loss of only 30 lives. Many questions arouse as to the cause of the disaster. Were the Germans guilty of sinking a Red Cross ship and thus negating the Geneva Convention or was there evidence of foul play aboard? 92 years later, from the depths of 120 metres, a diving expedition unravelles new theories, but where does fiction end and fact begin? An intertwined story line of the past and present.

Based on Marc Sluszny’s diving expedition to the HMHS Britannic.
